The origin

Students learn best
when they build.

"In classrooms everywhere, teachers face the same challenge: keeping every student engaged and excited about technology. Gary discovered the answer was simple: Learning by Doing."

Mr Circuit Technology designs and supplies classroom-tested electronics labs and kits used by teachers and schools for STEM, robotics, and introductory engineering — with safe low-voltage systems suitable for any classroom environment.

Chapter 01

A classroom in Los Angeles

Gary Gibson was a teacher before he was an inventor. In a real classroom, with real students, he saw the same thing every day: the moment a student's eyes light up when something they built actually works. He wanted to bottle that moment — and make it available to every class, everywhere.

Chapter 02

The problem with most electronics curricula

Most electronics kits in schools were one of two things: too expensive to scale, or too complicated to be safe. Gary wanted something different — reusable, breadboard-based, low-voltage, and packed with enough guided experiments that a first-year CTE teacher could pick it up and run a semester without struggle.

Chapter 03

Lab 1 is born — no soldering, no mystery

Lab 1 started simple: a solderless breadboard, 11 key components, a 9-volt battery, and 34 lessons written by Gary himself. No power tools. No soldering. No special teacher training. Students plug in parts, follow the guide, and watch real circuits come to life. The kit has been in classrooms since 1996 and hasn't needed a redesign — because it was right the first time.

Chapter 04

Beyond the desk — the digital platform

Every Mr Circuit kit also unlocks mrcircuittech.com — a companion online platform Gary built to extend the learning beyond the physical lab. Video lessons, interactive flipbooks, self-checking quizzes, the Ohm's Law game, and printable certificates. It runs on any Chromebook, tablet, or computer. No installation, no login fees, free with every kit — forever.

What we stand for

Built around how students actually learn.

Every decision Gary made — the breadboard, the 9V battery, the reusable bags — comes from this.

Hands-on learning

Students don't read about circuits. They build them. Every lesson ends with a working experiment they can see, hear, or measure.

Classroom-safe

9-volt battery. No soldering. No power tools. Safe for any grade level, any environment — from a school lab to a kitchen table.

Low cost, high impact

Training costs a few dollars per student. The MC1-SET outfits a full classroom for $164. Reusable kits mean the cost goes down every year.

Teacher-first design

Structured lessons, printed manuals, purchase orders, 24-hour quotes. Gary built everything around what teachers actually need — not what looks good in a catalog.
